The Bard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 Cork Closure – DOZEN

The BARD range celebrates the work of Australia’s best known lyric poet John Shaw Neilson who was raised in the cottage on the Hollick Neilson’s Block vineyard. Revered by his peers in the world of literature, Neilson was born in Penola in 1872, and it is thought that much of the imagery in his poetry was conjured up during his childhood experiences in the swampy bush land around Coonawarra.

The 2019 vintage can be characterised by warm sunny days and cool nights providing the perfect ripening conditions for flavour development and optimal sugar levels. Our Cabernet Sauvignon was picked gradually at optimum ripeness from late March to late April. Cool and dry conditions provided slow and even ripening without disease pressure allowing full flavour development and soft ripe tannins. Exceptional colour intensity and vibrant fruit character are the hallmarks of this vintage.
