The Bard Sauvignon Blanc

The BARD range celebrates the work of Australia’s best known lyric poet John Shaw Neilson who was raised in the cottage on the Hollick Neilson’s Block vineyard. Revered by his peers in the world of literature, Neilson was born in Penola in 1872, and it is thought that much of the imagery in his poems was conjured up during his childhood experiences in the swampy bushland around Coonawarra.

Typically sourced from Coonawarra, the grapes are picked at the coolest time of the day to protect the flavours. Following on from this, careful fermentation is conducted to ensure the pristine characters of the grape. This wine captures a range of flavours extending from green herbaceous characters to aromatic hints of kiwi, pinapple and lemons. We recommend cellaring for up to three years.
